Fragment of a base of white (‘Pentelic’) marble. Dedication of torches to Isis and the Aegyptian gods by Valeria, wife of Priscus. Vidmann in SIRIS 15, p. 11 restores γυνή instead of θυγάτηρ in ll. 2-3. Torches were part of the rituals in the cult of Isis, see IG II3 4, 1130, l. 7. |
