Three fragments. Dedication to Demeter Chloe by Nikoboule, also known as Ilara, the priestess of the goddess. According to Kapetanopoulos, this inscription seems to be identical with IG II² 4777, since they resemble in form and lettering and both were found on the Acropolis. J. Kirchner suggested that the father of Nikoboule may be identified with the prytanis of 167/8 CE (IG II2, 1774, l. 45: Θεότιμος Τρύφωνος Ἕρμειος). If so, the dedication should be dated in the 2nd half of the 2nd c. CE. |
