Fragments of a large lunate base of white (‘Pentelic’) marble. Dedication of statue to Calpurnia Lepida by the Areopagos, the boule and the Athenian demos, on account of her justice and piety. Calpurnia was wife of Sergius Salvidienus Scipio Orfitus, also honoured in this family monument. She was also the granddaughter of P. Aelius Orphitos, whose wife was honoured in Athens, see IG II2 4054, Appendix, n. . |
