Statue base set up by Occia Prisca in honour of her son, the Stoic philosopher L. Peticius Propas, with the consent of the Elean boule. She could have been a Corinthian, like her son (l. 2). The gentilicium Occius is uncommon in the Greek mainland (cf. IG II2 3280). It is attested in Italy, Noricum and Gallia Narbonensis, see Solin and Salomies, 130.
