Statue base with honourific inscription set up by the polis of Sparta praising the moderation, wifely affection and general propriety and virtue of Aurelia Fortunata. The statue was funded by her father, Syllios. On Aurelia Fortunata, see Bradford, 445. Aurelia Fortunata owed her gentilicium to her marriage with Aurelius Nikephoros. For her cognomen, see Solin – Salomies, 334, s.v. Fortunatus.
