Αὐρηλίαν Φορτουνᾶταν

τέρα, γυναῖκα Αὐρ(ηλίου) Νικη-
5 φόρου τοῦ Σωτηρίδα,
σωφροσύνης τε καὶ φι-
λανδρίας καὶ τῆς συνπά-
σης κοσμιότητος καὶ
ἀρετῆς ἕνεκεν, προσ-

Statue base with honourific inscription set up by the polis of Sparta praising the moderation, wifely affection and general propriety and virtue of Aurelia Fortunata. The statue was funded by her father, Syllios. On Aurelia Fortunata, see Bradford, 445. Aurelia Fortunata owed her gentilicium to her marriage with Aurelius Nikephoros.
