   Comments:

Square base bearing a honourific inscription for Aurelia Teimokrateia, whose statue was dedicated by the polis of Sparta praising her virtue and piety towards the goddesses. On Aurelia Teimokrateia, see Bradford, 412 (1). The cultic titles of thoinarmostria and agorachos are connected with the cult of Demeter and Kore and, therefore, the inscription must have originated from the nearby sanctuary of the Eleusinian Demeter.
