Πομπηΐαν Πῶλλαν Θε-
οξένου τὴν ἀρχηΐδα καὶ
θεωρὸν διὰ βίου τοῦ σεμνο-

ων, σωφροσύνης τε καὶ σε-
μνότητος καὶ τῆς ἄλλης πά-
σης ἀρετῆς τῆς ἐν γυναιξὶν
ἕνεκα, προσδ̣εξαμένων τὸ ἀ-
10 νάλωμα Τιβερίου Κλαυδίου
Αἰλίου Πρατολάου τοῦ καὶ Δα-
μοκρατίδα καὶ Κλαυδίας Δα-

Square marble statue base on top and bottom decorated with cymatia, bearing a honourific inscription for Pompeia Polla on account of her moderation, piety and all her female virtue, whose statue was dedicated by the polis and funded by her grand-children Ti. Claudius Aelius Pratolaos (RP II, LAC 290) and Claudia Damostheneia (RP II, LAC 219). Pompeia Polla held the priestly title of ἀρχηίς and was theoros for life of the festival of the Hyacinthia. Aelius Alkandridas was an agoranomos (RP II, LAC 6), while she was probably the grandmother of Claudia Damostheneia (I) (RP II, LAC 219, see the relevant entry). |
