   Comments:

Circular marble base with a honourific inscription for M. Aurelius Kleonymos set up by the polis of Sparta. He was a synephebos of Sex. Pompeius Gorgippos, whose mother, the ἀξιολογωτάτη καὶ πάντα ἀρίστη Aurelia Hagion funded this monument. On Aurelia Hagion, see Bradford, 15-16. It is unsure whether she obtained Roman citizenship through the Constitutio Antoniniana or whether it had been granted to her family earlier and before her marriage. According to Spawforth 1984, 280, the marriage took place before 212 CE. Her husband was σύναρχος of the agoranomia, eponymous patronomos and high-priest of the imperial cult, RP II, LAC 630. Her son, attested in the epigraphic text, is characterized as axiologotatos and having served as a boagos, RP II, LAC 627.
