παντὸς ἀρετῇ καὶ ἐπὶ τῇ τῆς ἀγορανομίας ἀνυπερβλήτῳ
μεγαλοψυχίᾳ καὶ τῶν ἐν αὐτῇ καμάτων καὶ πάσης ἐπιμε-
5 λείας παρρησίᾳ προσ[δεξαμέ]νων τὸ ἀνάλωμα τῶν μὲν
ἑπτὰ ἀνδριάντων τῶ[ν ἀ]ξιολογωτάτων παίδων αὐτοῦ

On the front side (face A) of an opisthographic rectangular marble statue base. Duplicate of a honourific inscription set up by the polis of Sparta for C. Pomponius Panthales Diogenes Aristeas (RP II, LAC 646), who was praised with twelve public statues for the benefactions he provided especially as agoranomos. Three of them were funded by his parents-in-law and their son. Claudia Longina was acclaimed in the epigraphic text as axiologotate. The honorand was agoranomos and high-priest of the imperial cult. |
