   Comments:

Fragment of statue base decorated with cymatium on top bearing a fragmentary honourific inscription set up by the polis of Sparta for Claudia Philokrateia. On the person, see Bradford, 434 (2), cf. Spawforth 1985, 238. She was daughter of the prominent Iulia Etymokledeia who was praised here as εὐγενεστάτη and πανταπρώτη (RP II, LAC 387 [2]) and most probably grand-daughter of the also eminent Memmia Xenokrateia (RP II, LAC 542), see the relevant entries.
