   Comments:

Two stone fragments. Civic honourific inscription broken into two parts for Memmia Ageta in recognition of her virtue. Her statue was funded by her sons, the Claudii Antipatros and Pratolaos. On Memmia Ageta, see Bradford, 14 (2). Thanks to prosopographic studies, we know that Claudius Brasidas (I) was Memmia Ageta’s husband. Moreover, an information provided to us by the Dig. 36.1.23 on a trust set up by the divorced wife of Brasidas and the absence of the husband’s name in the epigraphic text leads us to assume that his first wife was Memmia Ageta and the inscription was set up after their divorce. Memmia Ageta was probably the daughter of the eminent P. Memmius Pratolaos (IV) who served as an ephor, synarchos, eponymous patronomos, priest of the Dioscuri and was honoured as philokaisar (RP II, LAC 575), wife of the Roman senator and eponymous patronomos Claudius Brasidas (I) (RP II, LAC 274) and mother of Claudius Antipatros (RP II, LAC 258) and Claudius Pratolaos (I) (RP II, LAC 314).
