Small base of white (“Pentelic”) marble. Dedication of a statue for Athenais by her grand-father, a hierophantis. Athenais was probably a hearth-initiate and, according to Clinton, she was perhaps the daughter of Hipparchos, the grandfather of Herodes Atticus (see also IG II2 3594, Appendix, n. , PIR2 C 1076). |
