Description - Comments:
The statue is fragmentarily preserved, put together from two fragments. The inset head and arms (the left from the forearm onwards; a wide circular socket for the insertion of a metal tenon is preserved on the surface of the marble), as well as the lower part of the body (approximately from the middle of the thighs downwards) are missing. Strong weathering is evident on the marble surface (including the broken surfaces). The figure is depicted standing, frontal, wearing a long chiton a himation. The chiton is belted just under the breasts. The himation is wrapped tightly around almost the entire body, leaving only the breasts and right shoulder uncovered. At the front, it forms a rectangular mass just under the breasts, ending over the left outstretched forearm. The identification as a portrait-statue is not certain (“dubium”). Good quality of workmanship.
